Lakewood's Media Center serves Kindergarten through fifth grade. Different genres are used weekly to teach South Carolina standards. Students are given an opportunity to select and exchange books every day. Students are encouraged to use the online card catalog, (Destiny) to take Accelerated Reader Tests, access the Internet for research, and to come enjoy a 'good book'. 

The Media Center is open from 7:00-3:00 everyday for independent research, small group, and whole group instruction. Everyone is encouraged to visit and use the available resources. 



Our goal is to help students develop "the ability to locate, evaluate, and use information to become independent life-long learners." (SACS)
