Principal's Message

It is with great honor that I proudly serve as the principal of Lakewood Elementary School.  Lakewood is a National Blue Ribbon School that works hard to assure that each child develops a strong foundation of personal and academic excellence through comprehensive, diverse, and innovative learning experiences.  We truly believe that each day presents the opportunity to work as a team with purpose to do what is best for ALL students!  They are our WHY!

 

We are committed to creating and maintaining a learning environment that is safe and secure, all while offering a wide array of unique learning opportunities for our students.  The doors of our school opened in September of 1959. Much like the surrounding Myrtle Beach area, our school has experienced change, growth, and transition. Through the growth and transition, our school, remains the centerpiece of our ever-changing community. Our students and their families, widely diverse in their professions and cultures, remain the focus. The fifty plus years of academic excellence and rich traditions allow us to be proud to be called the Lakewood Bobcats!

 

We encourage parents and community members to stay actively engaged in our school through special activities and events. We value and encourage your support, as it will ultimately benefit all of our students.  We look forward to a wonderful and successful school year with "Small P.A.W.S. Making Big Impressions" at Lakewood Elementary.
